Aerial Surveys and Mapping

We offer precise aerial survey methods using drones and LiDAR technology to provide high quality deliverables and high-resolution products within the required timelines. We have a well-trained GIS team that can provide vectorized data from aerial images.

Land Surveys

SPEC offers both cadastral and land survey services delivered by the right professionals using the latest state of art equipment and software. We offer boundary opening, control survey, topographic and terrain survey, bathymetric surveys and levelling.

Resettlement Action Planning

SPEC has a team of well dedicated land surveyors, valuers, sociologists, engineers and planners to undertake Resettlement Action Planning. We have offered these services in Oil and gas sector for the development of the Tilenga oil fields and the EACOP.

Engineering Design

We do have a team of dedicated engineers and professionals that offer engineering design services to our clients. We work with industries like oil and gas, transmission, highway and transportation and various private clients.

Aerial Surveys

With leading-edge technology and an experienced team of aerial mapping professionals, SPEC provides aerial surveying for projects ranging from topographic Surveys and oil and gas and mining exploration and construction. We utilize manned and UAV platforms to collect aerial photography of a project area. The photos are then used to produce 3-D mapping and photomosaic images of the site. Production of topographic (surface) and planimetric (feature) mapping in AutoCAD is the primary deliverable.

Our aerial mapping services and software allow us to see all contour and planimetric data in stereo format with digital imagery as the base map. For topographic mapping purposes, we can develop these contours at various intervals based on the flying height of the project. Aerial mapping services offered by Cooper Aerial Surveys Co with photogrammetry are included but not limited to:

Digital Terrain Models (DTM)
Digital Elevation Models (DEM)
Digital Surface Models (DSM)
Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN)

LiDAR Scanner

SPEC also undertakes Terrestrial Laser Scanning services throughout Uganda and Eastern Africa. They can be used for scanning buildings, rock formations and other objects to produce a 3D model.

Internship

Our role in improving engineering professionals for the last 10 years has been exciting. Some of our trainees have professional recognition and international charter. Who is Eligible?

Internships are open to only continuing undergraduate students in Uganda who will be returning to school. Many of our trainees are capacitated in areas of GIS, geography, cadastral and engineering survey and aerial surveys.

Our trainees work and learn from our challenging project tasks as guided by experienced team members at SPEC. Internships are conducted at our local offices in Kampala. Field opportunities are also available.

Equipment & Teams

SPEC is a leader in aerial survey and mapping, using the cutting-edge DJI P1 camera and Zenmus L1 Lidar sensor to capture stunning photogrammetry and accurate LIDAR data. These sensors are mounted on the Matrice 300 drone, a versatile and reliable platform. We also have a range of RTK equipment from Leica, Trimble GNSS and Hi Target, as well as robotic total stations, echo sounders for bathymetry and digital levels.
